Citizens Defense Training

Our training first teaches you a level of awareness about your environment.  Once you have an understanding of the threat, our training progresses to protecting yourself from the threat.  The methodology we use teaches the individual skills of ultra refined awareness of their environment by recognizing that everything and anything can become a weapon.

In today’s society, often times if we are subject to a physical confrontation in or out of our work place, a weapon of some kind is usually involved.

Our training first teaches you a level of awareness about weapons. Once you have an understanding of the threat, then the training progresses to protecting yourself from the threat. The methodology we use teaches the individual skills of ultra refined awareness of their environment by recognizing that everything and anything can become a weapon. For example, the 9/11 incidents involved box cutters and plastic knives.

We take a very pro-active and dynamic approach. This stems from the concept of “Laging Una”, meaning “Always First”. A principle that is inherent in all Filipino Fighting.

Basic Self Defense Awareness:

  • Be aware of your surroundings
  • Walk in a well lit area
  • Walk with others when possible
  • Look around the parking lot as you walk
  • Lock your vehicle as soon as you get in it
  • Stay alert and walk briskly with your head up
  • Avoid displaying expensive items, especially jewelry
  • Look into your vehicle's rear seats before you enter it
  • Keep packages and valuables out of sight in your vehicle
  • Have your keys in your hands and ready to unlock your vehicle as you approach it, and be aware of what is around you
  • If someone approaches your vehicle inquiring about anything, do not open your door or roll down your window
  • Before leaving your vehicle, make sure the windows are up and the doors are locked. Take a second to double check that you or your vehicle are not easy targets.
*If you are alone at night or early in the morning, ask security to escort you.
